Does anyone out there remember 1990?
Years are only usually remebered when we look at old photo's or see old friends.
1990 hit me in the face today. A young girl has just started working in our department and she was born in 1990.
1990, I am only getting usd to people being born in the 80's, but 1990, that was like, yesturday!!!.
When I got home I raked out my old photo's.
In 1990, i decided to leave my job as a nursing assistant an go to America, Yes i was going to be the next 'pretty women'.

I put an advert in my favourit mag 'Kerrang' advertising for friends to go with.

I had loads of replies but decided to girl with a girl from Bath called Louise. We were going with others but they are looonger stories.

We toured California, Arizona and Nevada.
After three days we had all our money stolen in 'The Rainbow Bar & Grill' on the Sunset Strip, so our perents had to wire money over!!

I met 'Lemmy' from 'motorhead' and they filmed a film call 'murder on the 13th floor' at our hotel. Hense the photo with the 'Patrol officer'

we went to LasVegas, Yosemite, San Francisco, Grand Canyon. It was great.

Even whrn I came home i was still having fun. Before i went back to college i became a chamber maid, oh yes, they way people leave thier rooms is discusting!!...I then did a nursing course, went Rock city in notts every Friday night, passed my driving test and work in the roughest bar in leicester..no wonder my dad went grey!!!

And all that seems like yesturday. Wow, can't wait till tomorrow!

Pencil up your nose

You know i wish you could all see this!!!...Andrew is walking around with a pencil up his nose.
Well not literally, he's got a half white mask on. try to imagine 'phantom of the opera' & 'Hannibal lecter' mask,OK, know he has pushed a pencil up through the masks nose hole so it looks like its up his nose!!!...all we need know is a nice chianti (can't spell)...hope you all watched Silence of the lambs or you wont know what i meant!!..ffffffffff!!!!:XX" class="middle" border="0">
im gonna shove him in the bath in a minute and relax with a glass of martini.

woooo

By the time i sat down yesterday i didn't manage to pick up the lap top, I jut had a bath, got a glass of wine and watched Top Gear. Yes I'm a petrol head, well Diesel Head!!!!
Andrew finally settled down at 9pm, in my bed with a video and by 10pm he was asleep. when i moved him, my bed was full of paper and pens and cuddly toys. luckily they were on my husband side so i didn't move them.

i know a lot of people think kids shouldn't go to sleep in there parents bed, but, i don't see a problem with it, they're only kids once and unfortunately if it gives me a quite evening then what the hell!!!!

i left for work this morning at 7.55pm. early as i don't start until 9.15 but i meet sally (beat friend0 in McDonald's for brekkie. Toasted bagels and tea. although the bagle is rarley toasted so it has to go back at least twice. I don't eat bagels often but its so annoying when the butter doesn't melt in!!!!.....or id that just McDonald's.

I finished work at 2.30, which is lovely as I've just had two weeks off and I'm off next week!!...cool....

By the time i got home my dad was there looking after the both of them, Jim had gone to work. They were both out on their bikes. Lib's of course waves as i drive into the cal-DE-sac, BUT Andrew. oh no!!!!!!

Hes decides his bike has turned into a power charged bike and tries to cling onto the back of my little Clio!!!...failing that he tries to grab hold of the wing mirrors and fly!!..not a good idea, not because its dangerous to him, but I've already had nine accidents and I've already ran somebody over before so i didn't want to add anymore to my belt.

Tea was another adventure today. We rarely eat at the table, only on Sundays....but I've decided we are now!!!....well, to get Andrew to the table was like Gordon Brown scrapping taxes...it ain't never gonna happen....but with much persuasion and the threat of the Sky card being removed it did. we were like the WALTONS, Elizabeth, Drew, Ma but jimBob was at work.

frozen men

Andrew has just had his lunch and has prized himself away from Ed, Edd & Eddie and has checked on his experiments.
Over the course of the weekend, Andrew has frozen what seems to be everything he can get his hands on...I did wonder if he had frozen Lib's phone!!!..but no.

He has frozen most of his action men figures in pint glasses, one of then unfortunately broke in two. He told me their story on traveling through the arctic trying to get to the north pole ( he did watch a Top Gear special the other day when May, Hammond and Clarkeson did the same thing), although i don't think they froze or do i think thier bits dropped off!. Going back to the action men figures, they are all frozen in water, coke and apple juice. luckerly he didn't see the wine I was drinking or that would have gone as well. What a way to freeze though in wine!!...

He is now climbing on my treadmill and pretending he's got a parachute on...may be i should go and close the upstairs windows!!

well going back a few days, we have just been on holiday in kent...mmmmm...not quite france but i did get sun burnt!!!...think we had the summer england lost!!!....we couldn't go to France this year because of the dog, but we have decided to put him in kennels next year and go to bordeaux!!

Anyway, last sunday the weather was ok so we decided to go to the 'White cliffs', well anyone out there should know that with a kid with ADHD the white cliffs of dover might not be a good idea if they havn't had there medication. Now Drew does take equasym xl which is a brand name for methylphenidate. most people just think it is ritalin, buts thats another brand name!!.

I gave drew his medication.
Imagine this..........a young puppy, excited but on a lead, a parniod mother who thinks her son is going to jump off a cliff and swim the english channel!!..well all you could here was me "Andrew, mind the cliff!!", "Andrew, come away from the cliff"...over and over again!!!!!!

And what did really happen, well the kids, dog and husband fine...what did i do!!!......had my cob in the grassy car park (picnic), flat ground, no cliffs, no wind!!!...i fall down a rabbit hole and sprain my ankle!! der!!...who's the womble now!!!!!

after that my family kept ME on alead!!!!

well it's Sunday already and since setting up my blog, i thought it would be easy sitting down writing....well I've finally managed it after i think is 3 days!!...my lovely daughter has unstuck herself from the computer and gone to the park!!!!....so I've managed to grab a tea and sit down.

Drew, my lovely son with ADHD has been in a lovely mood for three days, don't get me wrong, he is very cute, kind, caring and sometimes mellow, but oh god, last night his was swinging from the chandeliers!!!!...

I'm trying not to give him his medication whilst i am at home and trying good old fashioned parenting!!!..although he's driving me mad, you have to repeat yourself at least 5 times before he hears you.

Take this morning for example....

Last night lib's came home from the park and had lost her mobile phone, so with a few tears and tantrums we decided that first thing this morning we would head down to the park and retrace our steps!!!..well!!!!!

Drew finally got up at 8 and wanted to go down the stairs, i must have told him at least 3 times to get dressed, then 3 times to clean his teeth and have a wash, then 4 times to drink his milk!!!......one hour later we were walking around the park with the dog and lib's!!!!......

Never found the phone.....on the way Drew ran after the dog and i told him what must be at least four times not to get the dog excited, well did he listen NO!!!!.....and the dog jumped up and nipped him...
Don't get me wrong, i don't believe in nipping dogs, but he's only 7 months old and he thinks Drew was playing...Drew did take note then but half second later he was doing again!!!!

Drew is now watching telly...my electronic baby sitter but it keeps him calm for a while!!!!....i remember watching TIZWAZ all Saturday morning when i was a kid...so whats the harm....although i did teach Andrew the dying fly!!!!!

his reading is also coming along...since the school holidays and because we are going out with the dog more his looking and picking up words, which can only be a good thing...

Introduction blog!!

this is the start of what I hope will be a successful 'blog', about me, my life, my sons ADHD and DYSLEXIA.

Not many people believe ADHD exits so I want to invite you all to join me on the ADHD journey. Some is fun and some mind bogglingly awful.

My son Drew is a very talented artist and from time to time i will pop some of his drawing online. He's 10 years old and was diagnosed with ADHD when he was 5. He started the medication when he was six.

I am also married with ONE hubby, TWO kids (Lib's is 12), TWO cats, ONE dog and a hamster. I work part time for a pharmaceutical company and i am also a freelance writer.

So that's it for now.
